i had an assignment to basically rewrite Dante's Inferno in an alternate setting. the minimum requirement was 20 pages. my finished product was 48. :)
i've had requests that i post it here. i will do so, but i must first warn you that it contains spoilers. lots and lots. my paper is set in the world of Harry Potter, and it is written as sort of a sequel. if you haven't read the books (or at least seen the movies), i can guarantee you that there will be things in it that will [at least partly] ruin the experience for you, as well as plenty of things that will not make a lot of sense. ye be warned.
so, at a glance:
required reading: all the Harry Potter books (seriously, it doesn't take long to get through them.)
watching the movies isn't as good, but it will give context for the story and reduce spoilers.
recommended reading: Dante's Inferno (helps you to understand the structure, but isn't essential.)
with that, i intend to start putting it up here, in parts, soon. lemme know what you think, or if you want me to wait until you've gained the necessary background knowledge to understand the story.
